For winter tours where the weather doesn't play a role: The Alta XT jacket uses three-layer GORE-TEX Pro with a PFAS-free ePE membrane and a robust 70 denier outer material made of recycled nylon. Nevertheless, it only weighs 430 g. Montane's BARRIER and STORMGUARD construction reliably seals openings and front zipper. Taped pockets and less seam tape save weight and improve breathability. The helmet-compatible PIVOT-3 hood, two harness- and backpack-compatible chest pockets and long two-way underarm vents are designed for mountain use. The matching Alta pants made of GORE-TEX Performance ePE complement the set with a light stretch bib and removable straps. Full-length two-way side zippers provide ventilation and drop seat function. There is also an internal gaiter and KEPROTEC® reinforcements on the ankles.

Thanks to Gore's ePE membrane, the jacket and trousers are permanently waterproof, windproof and breathable. The jacket scores with a movement-optimized cut, pre-shaped arms, pit zips and a helmet-compatible hood that can be adjusted with gloves. High pockets remain accessible with a climbing harness and backpack, Napoleon and mesh inner pockets offer space for GPS and cell phone.
