Technique training, avalanche safety and personal insights into elite sport: From 9 to 11 December 2026, an exclusive ski touring camp at Lake Reschen combines sporting challenges with Alpine hospitality and relaxation.

The holiday region around Lake Reschen in the Upper Vinschgau valley impresses with its striking mountain scenery and the distinctive submerged church tower of Alt-Graun. From 9 to 11 December 2026, a camp with a German ski mountaineer and Olympian offers ski touring enthusiasts a special opportunity to actively explore the winter mountain landscape and develop their ski touring skills. Guided tours, technique training for ascents, kick turns and descents, and a practical avalanche transceiver exercise provide valuable knowledge for greater safety and better technique in Alpine terrain.

The athlete from DAV Bergland München is one of Germany’s promising ski mountaineers and a member of the national skimo team. His achievements at the highest international level include the 2023 U20 sprint world title and gold at the 2025 FISU World University Games. At the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, where ski mountaineering featured on the Olympic programme for the first time, he finished 13th in the sprint and seventh with the German mixed relay team. During the camp, the athlete will share his experience of elite sport directly on the mountain, from correct technique to safe conduct on tour. Away from the mountains, a fireside chat offers an opportunity to get to know the athlete personally and learn more about his journey in ski mountaineering through a documentary. Good food is also part of the experience: The group tours lead to the Plantapatsch and Schöneben mountain huts, where regional dining options provide a tasty break. Participants can also test DYNAFIT ski touring equipment on site and learn how to use it correctly in practice. The choice of tours will depend on current snow, weather and safety conditions.

Alpine hospitality and relaxation at Hotel Traube Post

The camp is based at the four-star Hotel Traube Post in Graun on Lake Reschen. Situated at around 1,500 metres above sea level and close to the lake’s famous church tower, the hotel provides a fitting setting for three days in the mountains. After the tours, the VIVANA SPA, covering more than 1,000 square metres, offers panoramic saunas, an indoor pool, an outdoor whirlpool and relaxation areas for recovery. Culinary highlights are also included: In addition to a shared evening at a mountain hut and lunches at mountain huts, participants can look forward to a five-course menu with a choice of dishes from the hotel’s acclaimed kitchen.
