The weather apps will be sought again for advice, weather models will be debated, and experiences, know-how and hopes will be discussed at local bars.

Soon we’ll know whether the upcoming winter will give us plenty of white, fluffy treats or rather stay inactive and reserved. Last winter, St Peter had quite a good time with Mother Holle in the Alps. If we believe the Grimm Brothers, Mother Holle’s cushions were shaken diligently last year. We really hope that they had a lot of fun together, and in order to inspire Mother Holle and St Peter to let off some steam again this winter, we have selected many exciting stories from the Alps for this new issue of BACKLINE, but of course, we won’t let our friends of and from Scandinavia, the US, Canada, Argentina, and Georgia down either.

Many winter sports companies have done excellent development work in recent years and consistently differentiated their ski touring products according to the consumers’ needs and preferences. BACKLINE will carry out a comprehensive equipment test for the first time this winter and carefully test the strengths and weaknesses of the latest products for winter 2019/2020, which will be featured in the 2019 edition of BACKLINE.

In the future, we hope this will answer the numerous questions we receive regarding skis and touring equipment.

In addition to eight chosen, renowned testers, we are still looking for two more with the necessary experience.

Please check www.backline-magazin.com for details if you are interested and want to join us in the upcoming winter 2019.

We would like to wish everyone a safe and snowy winter, and of course lots of fun reading BACKLINE 2018.

Yours,
