Why countless variations rather than one clear shade of black?
With the Buteo Mid II Jacket, Polartec® and Haglöfs are launching the world's first product in Polartec® Standard Issue Black.
Rather than repeatedly developing nearly identical shades of black, the two brands are now adopting a new shared black standard that simplifies development and production processes. Thanks to Polartec® Solution Dye technology, Standard Issue Black also reduces resource consumption during dyeing: compared with conventional piece-dyeing methods, water consumption is reduced by more than 50 percent and energy consumption by 20 percent.
By deliberately choosing a popular, high-volume product such as the Buteo Jacket for the first commercial application of Standard Issue Black, Haglöfs and Polartec demonstrate that even small changes can lead to more efficient development and production processes in the outdoor industry.
